'Quality Toon winger would raise the Bar for Scotland'

HAMPDEN hero Kenny McLean has indicated that the Scotland squad would have no qualms about Newcastle's Harvey Barnes being selected for the World Cup.

United winger Barnes has been reticent over a potential declaration for Steve Clarke’s side since they secured their place in next summer's finals in last week’s thrilling qualifier against Denmark.

Following the triumphant night at Hampden Park, Barnes left open the possibility of representing the country he qualifies for through his grandparents.

He remains eligible after only making one friendly appearance for England against Wales back in 2020.
