Pilot forced to land in field after 'losing revs'

77-YEAR-OLD WAS TAKING PASSENGERS ON FLYING LESSON

A PILOT has told of how he was forced to land in a field just off the A1 in Northumberland yesterday.

The incident took place at Eshott just before 9am. Pilot Peter Brooks, who was conducting a flying lesson, and three passengers were in the plane, but no one was harmed as it came to rest in the field just a short distance from the busy road.

Mr Brooks, 77, who is based at Eshott Airfield in Morpeth, started learning to fly in the 1960s, and has over 50 years of experience as an instructor.
