Newcastle are suffering right now, accepts Howe

EDDIE Howe admits it is difficult to pinpoint where Newcastle United have gone wrong this season.

Flying high in the Champions League and going great guns in the Carabao Cup with another semifinal now in sight, the success in the cups only tells half a story.

The Magpies can't buy a win away from home and have been sunk by Arsenal and Liverpool on home turf.

The one big plus for Newcastle is that they go into the encounter with Manchester City on the back of five straight wins in all competitions at St James' Park.

That will hopefully give them confidence ahead of tomorrow's visit of Pep Guardiola's men, although Howe admits he is mystified by the inconsistent performances.
