On-loan Leicester City youngster Kian Pennant got the Heed off to the perfect start when he opened the scoring inside the opening five minutes with his first goal for the club.

Jaydon Harris got the hosts level just after the half-hour mark before they took the game out of sight when Lewis Simper and Harris both found the net inside the opening stages of the second half.

Dom Telford reduced the arrears moments later but Sutton secured the points when Jack Taylor added their fourth in the eighth minute of injury time.

He told the club website: “We've been hit with an illness bug - it’s not an excuse but we are going through a spell at this moment where everything is coming at once.
