MAN FORCED HIS WAY INTO HOME
MURDEROUS Ross Clancy is facing a lengthy spell behind bars after he admitted trying to kill a woman in her own home.
Clancy left the victim, in her 60s, with serious head injuries during an attack in Elswick, Newcastle in which he also left her partner, also in his 60s, badly hurt, on November 21 last year.
Clancy was due to stand trial accused of two counts of attempted murder when he pleaded guilty to the charge in relation to the woman and admitted GBH with intent on the man. It is understood he didn't know the couple and forced entry into their home and demanded money before attacking them with a hammer.
