Girl (or boy), you know it's true —for a couple of years, Milli Vanilli were one of the biggest pop acts on the planet. And then, they weren't, after suffering one of the most spectacular falls from grace the music industry has ever witnessed.

But let's go back to the very beginning of the story, when Rob Pilatus from Munich first met Fab Morvan from Paris in an LA disco.

They got on well and, after reconnecting in Pilatus's home city, they bonded over their shared experiences of growing up black in predominantly white European places and, thanks to a shared love of music, set out to become backing singers.
