Customers 'sad' as cafe and art space announces its closure

BELOVED Chester cafe and art space has closed its doors for good, staff members announced in an emotional farewell message.

Arthouse Cafe on Bridge Street, a popular spot for food, drinks, exhibitions and workshops, cited financial struggles due to slow weekday trading conditions and increasing costs as a non-profit organisation.

In a post on the cafe's Instagram page on May 5, staff expressed their heartbreak over the decision, saying: "It is with deep sadness we are letting you know that The Arthouse will be closing its doors for good at 4.30pm on Monday 5th May.

"It's been a very difficult decision to make but necessary due to the current week day trading conditions and the rising costs we face as a small independent non-profit business.
