Championship bests for West Cheshire trio

The West Cheshire Athletic Club trio impressed at the annual Cheshire Schools Track and Field Championships ahead of next month's English Schools Championships being held at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium.

Sidney produced a stunning put of 13.30m to achieve success in the Intermediate Girls Shot Competition, while Kara powered her way to victory in the Senior Girls hammer event with a throw of 43.56m.

And Holly clocked an equal Championship best time of 24.6 seconds for top spot in the Senior Girls 200m final before winning the Senior Girls 400m final with 58.1 seconds.

West Cheshire's Lewis Morris, Seb Whiteley, Nathan Brassington, Dun Xue, Evie Whittaker, Alba March, Emilia Pyper, and Nancy Farmer also tasted success.

Lewis rounded the Intermediate Boys 1500m in a winning time of 4:19.7, ahead of team mate, Scott Wells, who posted 4:25.6, while Seb hit 12.90m for top spot in the Intermediate Boys shot put.

Nathan delivered a double success story from his appearances in the Senior Boys shot put (12.32m) and discus (39.60m), while Dun nailed a winning throw of 41.03m in the Senior Boys hammer.
