FG Convenes Petrol Price Forum Amid Soaring Costs and Deregulation Tensions
The BusinessNG
|The Business NG
In a bid to address growing concerns over petrol pricing and supply volatility in Nigeria's downstream sector, the federal government has scheduled a two-day national stakeholders forum for July 23 and 24, 2025, to establish clear petrol pricing guidelines in the post-subsidy era.
-
The announcement was made by Francis Ogaree, Executive Director of Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installation, and Transportation Infrastructure at the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), during a session at the 24th Nigeria Oil and Gas Energy Week in Abuja.
The forum, according to Ogaree, will bring together marketers, refiners, industry operators, and top government officials to deliberate on key issues such as pricing benchmarks, feedstock availability, operational uncertainties, and investment sustainability in local refining.
