Supreme Court flags absence of Punjab govt lawyers, shares concerns with AG

The Supreme Court in the case The State Of Punjab Versus Bikram Singh Majithia observed and has called out the State of Punjab for the failure of the Punjab Government's panel advocates to appear in matters wherein the notice has been served.
The bench comprising of Justice K. Maheshwari and Justice Aravind Kumar was hearing the present matter.
The bench in the case was hearing an appeal filed by the Punjab Police against the order of the High Court, wherein the court granted bail to Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia.
On March 4, the court passed an interim order, wherein the court directed Majithia to appear before the Punjab Police on March 17 for interrogation in a drugs case.
