Shiv Sena (UBT) plans HC challenge over Mumbai North-West election outcome

The dispute surrounding Shiv Sena's Ravindra Waikar's victory against Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Amol Kirtikar in the Mumbai North-West constituency continues to escalate, with the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction preparing to contest the result in the High Court within a week.

"This defeat raises serious doubts, and we are taking this matter to court," stated Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Parab during a press briefing in Mumbai on Monday. "It was our victory, which was unjustly taken away through misuse of the system."

Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena faction led by Shinde denied any wrongdoing and criticised the Opposition alliance in Maharashtra, particularly Shiv Sena (UBT), for unwarranted accusations.

"Rahul Gandhi and Aaditya Thackeray owe an apology for spreading false information about EVMs. Even the newspaper has retracted its news," remarked Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam to the media.
