The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued a consolidated master directive, increasing the minimum capital requirement for asset reconstruction companies (ARCs) to initiate securitization from Rs 100 crore to Rs 300 crore, as of October 11, 2022.
The central bank announced that this regulation would come into effect on April 24, 2024. ARCS, as of October 11, 2022, have been given a transitional period to meet the minimum required Net Owned Fund (NOF) of Rs 300 crore.
