Passenger seeks action against goods train pilots in Kanchenjunga Express crash

A passenger aboard the ill-fated Kanchenjunga Express, involved in a tragic accident on June 17 near Jalpaiguri station in North Bengal, has lodged a complaint against the loco pilot and assistant loco pilot of the goods train responsible for the collision.

The incident occurred when a goods train reportedly ignored a signal and collided with the Sealdah-bound Kanchanjungha Express at approximately 8:55 am, resulting in a devastating outcome in the Phansidewa area of Darjeeling district.

The collision tragically claimed the lives of at least 10 individuals and left more than 25 others injured. Chinmoy Majumdar, one of the passengers, recounted in her complaint the sudden jolt felt while the train was in motion, causing panic among passengers. She sustained injuries, while several co-passengers suffered severe wounds in the aftermath of the collision.
