Middle East conflict could push up natural gas prices

The recent conflict between Israel and Hamas has raised concerns in the international energy market, particularly regarding the supply of natural gas.

As the Middle East is a major producer of natural gas, any spillover of the conflict into other Middle Eastern countries could disrupt gas supplies, according to energy experts.
Geopolitical tensions in the region have led to an increase in spot prices of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Notably, the European natural gas benchmark saw a 41 percent surge in prices last week, reaching a seven-month high.
