"Whatever happened in Pahalgam is completely condemnable," she said. "Tourism has stopped in the area, and the economy of Jammu and Kashmir has suffered tremendously.

A Jammu court on Monday granted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) a five-day remand of two individuals arrested in connection with the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that took place earlier this year. The accused, identified as Parvaiz Ahmad and Bashir Ahmad, were presented before the Additional District and Sessions Judge, who sanctioned the remand and fixed the next hearing for June 27, 2025.
According to officials, the arrests were made on Sunday by the NIA, which has taken over the investigation into the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack claimed the lives of 26 civilians and sent shockwaves across the country, prompting swift action by the central investigating agency. The two arrested individuals, Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar and Bashir Ahmad Jothar, are accused of providing shelter and logistical support to the terrorists involved in the assault.
NIA officials revealed that the arrests followed a detailed investigation based on local intelligence, technical surveillance, and on-ground inputs. The accused reportedly facilitated the movement and hideout of the attackers in the days leading up to the terror strike.
Their alleged role in harboring the perpetrators has become a key focus of the investigation, and further interrogation is expected to shed more light on the broader network that enabled the attack.
