FII/DII lift markets to new highs, retail investors advised caution

The Indian stock market has been experiencing a robust bull run, largely supported by domestic investors, according to data from the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

This data reveals that domestic institutional investors (DIIS) made net purchases exceeding Rs 28,633 crore in the past month, marking a sustained trend of domestic investment since July of the previous year. July was notably the last month when DIIs were net sellers in the Indian markets.

In June alone, DIIS infused Rs 28,633 crore into the Indian stock markets. In contrast, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) showed more modest activity, with net purchases amounting to only Rs 2,037 crore for the same month. This followed a substantial offloading of Rs 42,214 crore by FIIs in May. This disparity underscores the significant role DIIS have played in supporting and driving the Indian stock market's current bullish trend.
