ELECTRIC CARS TO INCREASE BY ALMOST 10X BY 2030: IEA

International Energy Agency (IEA) has predicted a substantial transformation in the energy landscape by 2030 under the existing policy framework electric car on the roads worldwide, marking a significant shift in the automotive industry

As per the International Energy Agency’s latest report, the ‘World Energy Outlook 2023,’ renewable energy’s contribution to the global electricity supply is projected to increase from its current 30 per cent to 50 per cent by 2030.

The global shift toward clean energy is an undeniable reality, and its momentum is unstoppable. It’s no longer a matter of ‘if’ but rather ‘how soon,’ and the sooner, the better for everyone,” said IEA Executive Director Faith Birol.

The report indicates that investments in new offshore wind projects are expected to triple by 2030, surpassing those in new coal- and gas-fired power plants.
