DTC completes East Delhi bus route revamp

Delhi Transport Corporation has completed its pilot project on rationalising bus routes in East Delhi, officials said on Friday, with 692 CNG buses set to gradually go off the roads by the end of this year due to expiry of their operational life.
The rationalisation exercise will next be carried out in the West and North regions, and authorities have emphasised that none of the 12-metre bus routes will be discontinued. Even with reduced fleet strength, at least one bus will continue to operate on every route to ensure uninterrupted services, they added.
