Immediately after taking oath as the Chief Minister, D K Shivakumar made sure he announced a six-point plan to usher in a new ‘Youth Yuga (Era)’.

The six-point plan includes free bus pass for students; a private employment exchange system; establishment of 10,000 youth associations across the state; a solution to the OC-CC problem; conversion of B Khata to A Khata across the state; a Rs 2,000-crore grant for asphalting the roads of Bengaluru city. The Chief Minister held his first Cabinet immediately after taking oath and announced the measures in a press conference.

“The state’s farmers are our backbone. Preparations have been underway for the past six months to design many programmes for labourers and people of all classes. In today’s Cabinet meeting, we discussed for two hours and decided to resolve the problems faced by people of six categories and to usher in a new youth era,” he said.
