Airtel denies interest in buying Vodafone's stake in Indus Towers

Bharti Airtel has clarified that it is not currently in talks to acquire UKbased Vodafone Group's 21.05% stake in Indus Towers, dismissing speculations sparked by a report in The Economic Times.

The Indian telecom operator stated in an exchange filing that it has no intention to increase its stake beyond what is necessary for the financial consolidation of Indus Towers, emphasizing compliance with disclosure requirements.
Airtel, led by billionaire Sunil Mittal, holds the largest stake of 47.95% in Indus Towers. Despite repeated attempts, Vodafone Group, Vodafone Idea, and Indus Towers did not respond to requests for comment from Reuters.
