PNP EYES PATROL CARS FOR FREE RIDES AMID FUEL CRISIS

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said they are exploring the use of beat patrol assets to fetch stranded commuters to cushion the impact of rising fuel costs.
The PNP is currently assessing how its patrol cars can be deployed to provide free rides nationwide, as public transport services struggle with surging fuel prices. Nartatez explained that the initiative is part of the police's community-oriented policing, while ensuring that security operations remain uncompromised.
