Navotas police officers face probe over torture allegations

Several officers of the Navotas City Police Station (NCPS) are under investigation following serious allegations of torture and coercion.
Two murder suspects, identified only as “Michael” and “James,” claim they were physically assaulted while in police custody.
According to their lawyer, the suspects were arrested on November 8 in Barangay Longos, Malabon, in connection with a fatal shooting in Navotas.
While detained, they allege they were beaten inside the station, sustaining bruises, contusions, and, in one case, a head injury.
