Three individuals have died as a result of the combined impact of Super Typhoon "Nando", tropical cyclone "Mirasol", and the southwest monsoon (habagat), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
A situational report from the agency indicated that one fatality was recorded in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), while two others were reported in Central Luzon. All these were being validated by the NDRRMC. In addition, nine individuals were injured and five others were missing.
Among the fatalities was a 74-year-old man who was pinned to death inside his vehicle after a landslide struck Sitio Begis, Poblacion along Marcos Highway in Tuba, Benguet on Sept. 22.
The incident also damaged two sport utility vehicles (SUVs), a van, and an oil tanker.
