DILG: HUNDREDS EVACUATED AMID THREAT OF 'NANDO' ONSLAUGHT

A total of 3,284 families or approximately 10,061 individuals were “preemptively evacuated” in high-risk areas of Northern and Central Luzon to ensure public safety amid the threat of super typhoon "Nando", the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said on Monday, Sept. 22.
In a statement, the DILG said that Cagayan Valley Region has the most number of evacuees with 2,747 families or roughly 8,476 individuals.
The majority of the evacuees from Region 2 are from Cagayan province with 2,457 families or 7,639 individuals; followed by Isabela with 256 families or 728 individuals evacuated; while Batanes and Nueva Vizcaya had smaller numbers of individuals transported to evacuation centers.
