Lingfield SEND school awarded 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating

A SURREY SEND school's residential provision, which parents say ‘makes a huge difference’, has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted.
-
When St Piers School, in Lingfield, was last inspected in 2024 it was given an overall ‘good’ rating. However, Ofsted were so inspired by what they saw at the school in March, that they believe it “consistently exceeds good”.
St Piers School is a special school supporting children and young people with neurological conditions such as epilepsy, autism and complex needs with an EHCP. The school is operated by the national charity Young Epilepsy.
While day places are available, it is the residential provision, which caters for students aged 12 to 19, that has recently been commended as ‘outstanding’.
Parents’ positive feedback reflects the confidence that families have in staff's ability to deliver high-quality care that meets the complex needs of students. One parent said: “A big thank you to everyone involved in my child's care. It’s made a huge difference.”
Inspectors praised the ‘waking day curriculum’, which ensures that learning extends beyond the school day and is embedded throughout all aspects of daily life.
