A loaf and a laugh: Comedian takes a turn at the till

YOU can get a dose of comedy with your croissant as Romesh Ranganathan continues his tour of Coughlans bakeries.

Hundreds of people queued outside the Oxted store earlier this month - to be served by the comedian.

Mr Ranganathan, from Crawley, became a co-owner of the chain last year, and now intends to put in a shift at all 31 of its shops.

Photos showed a lengthy queue of excited fans outside the branch in Oxted on May 7 - which staff estimate reached around 400 people at one point in the day.

The comedian, 47, also did a few hours at the Coughlans in Beckenham, south-east London on the same day.

In February, there were big queues in Dorking when he spent time behind the counter at the branch in High Street.
