Pharmacies free flu vaccinations for young children

Parents in Sunderland will be able to get their two and three-year-olds vaccinated against flu at local pharmacies for the first time ever this autumn.

For the first time, almost 250 pharmacies across the region will be offering the free nasal spray flu vaccine to two and three-year-olds.

Dr Catherine Monaghan, respiratory consultant and medical director, North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB), said: "Getting your child vaccinated against flu is one of the most important things you can do to protect their health this winter.

"Flu can be very serious, especially for young children, and it often spreads quickly through families.
