Godbold rolls back the years in Legends' victory

Dave Godbold’s Old England Legends’ side won their first match of the season 8-2 at home to Mount Centurions lifting them off the foot of the Sunderland Table Tennis Division One table.

Godbold, former Scottish open champion, British Premier League player and World veteran quarter-finalist got past Centurions’ Dan Foster and Harry Todd 3-1 on his return from knee surgery.

Rowan Jones was player of the match for Old England, with Leo Russo also winning two sets.

Sunderland University’s Leo Conn notched two for Gateshead who go second - the Legends’ jump to tenth.

Ian McAllister starred for Durham Aces at Whitburn in their 7-3 win and Jason Gargett starred in St Gabriel’s narrow 6-4 victory over Herrington Burn.
