Moore praises Hebburn as rival Lynch curses late luck

An early penalty from Gary Martin put the Hornets in front but Morpeth appeared to have rallied to a point thanks to an equaliser from Nic Bollado 12 minutes from time.

However, an injury-time own goal from Highwaymen keeper Isaac Allan ensured it was the hosts who snatched the points and left their manager to deliver a positive message to his players in the aftermath of the win.

Moore told The Sunday Sun: “It was deserved I think and at halftime they couldn’t have complained if we were four or five up.

“It's been different to recent weeks where we've been taking chances and it had been a nice and relaxing second-half. But when we give teams something to hold on to, they were always going to get a chance and it was the only chance they had. They took it, fair play to them.

“They stayed in the game away from home where they've not got results - but it’s the lads off the bench making the difference for us and the spirit we showed, we deserved it in the end.”
