White: Gunners have two matches to prove they've got what it takes to go one better next season

- BY RYAN TAYLOR

BEN WHITE claims that Arsenal can reluctantly accept another second-place finish, providing they prove in their two final matches that they possess the hunger to go one better next time.

Victory today over Newcastle who have already beaten Mikel Arteta's Gunners on three occasions this season - would all-but guarantee runners-up spot.

Only Manchester City, who play their 37th game on Tuesday night, would technically still be able to overtake Arsenal for second place.

White feels second is not to be sniffed at given the injury struggles Arsenal have endured throughout a notably challenging campaign that has stretched the squad to its limits.

The defender said: "Obviously we can't win the Premier League title now - but we still want to do as well as possible and get second place, which is really important.

"We just want to win games, which we know we can do.

"This season, we've had a difficult time with injuries and I think we've done well with that.
