Happy birthday to my lovely mum, who turns 84 this week. She has helped guide me through the obstacles of life just like a great parent does.

Although investing wasn't something that was an option for her, it is for you. Today you can invest so easily that some apps will round up your spending and save for you.

When you invest you must look way into the future, the very long term, way past all of the current noise in the markets and economy, because this time will pass and you want to take the opportunity now.

As I have aged and become a parent, I have been blessed with the ability to reflect on my life experiences.

As a young financial planner, I would explain to clients what I had been taught, not what I had experienced.
