The heroes making Gaza safe to live in

AS thousands of Gazans begin to make their journeys back to their homes following the ceasefire, many know they may find nothing but rubble.

However, The Halo Trust, an organisation dedicated to deactivating explosives in conflict zones, knows that it is when peace breaks out and people return to their communities that unexploded devices in the rubble pose a significant risk.

Hidden weapons, often scattered near towns and villages, can cause extensive civilian casualties and hinder recovery.

Today, we exclusively reveal that 50 teams from the Halo Trust, based in Dumfries, are to fly to Gaza to begin the clear-up.
