SEX HATE CRIME MOVE WELCOMED

WOMEN'S rights campaigners have welcomed the news "sex" is to be included in the Hate Crime Act to protect women and girls.
It comes after the Scottish Government shelved plans to criminalise misogyny before next year's Holyrood election. Instead of specific laws on misogyny, ministers will instead seek to amend existing hate crime legislation in order to add "sex" as a protected characteristic.
