Scots crime figures hope Thai life can keep them out of prison

THAILAND has been a well known retreat for gangland figures including Scottish organised crime bosses.

The Sunday Mail tracked a former drug fugitive accused of money laundering down to a villa on the island of Koh Samui in 2013 where he had been living a lavish lifestyle.

The convicted smuggler, from Glasgow, was once named on Interpol's Most Wanted list.

He was later arrested by police after a raid on his paradise resort home and met by National Crime Agency detectives.
