EVERGREEN John Higgins is bidding to become the oldest world snooker champion in history.

The resurgent Scottish legend turns 50 next month but there are no signs of him slowing down anytime soon as he bids to add a fifth world crown to his tally.
The Crucible action kicks-off on Saturday and the Wizard of Wishaw heads there as a red-hot contender having won two of the last three events.
