My secret message from holiday hotel trapped vile abuser

A MUM has told how a secret coded message for help she sent from a holiday abroad saw her violent ex arrested after their plane landed in Glasgow.

Angela McArthur sent a message via her child's Amazon Kindle device from a Turkish hotel room 2500 miles away to alert a friend after Liam Sharpe had tried to strangle her.

The mum of three had to reach out in secret after domestic abuser Sharpe, 37, had attacked her, smashed her phone and tried to strangle her until she lost consciousness.

After their plane landed in Glasgow, police arrested Sharpe, of Coatbridge, who was later handed more than four years in prison for domestic abuse convictions against her and a former partner.

Angela was one of three women who bravely gave evidence in court to see Sharpe hauled back to court and sentenced to 13 years behind bars for rape and domestic abuse spanning more than 10 years.
