Leader ignores the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza to work on his golf handicap at resort

LUXURY.. AS 90,000 STARVE

DONALD Trump teed off at his luxury Turnberry golf resort yesterday as thousands of children in Gaza face starvation and death.

The US president is the only world leader with the power to force an end to Benjamin Netanyahu's military campaign and aid blockade believed to have killed almost 60,000 Palestinians.

But the horrific humanitarian catastrophe appeared to be the furthest thing from Trump's mind as he enjoyed a game on his £1000a-round course.

Tomorrow he is scheduled to dine with Keir Starmer at his other high-end resort - Menie in Aberdeenshire - where a £75 Black Gold Aberdeen Angus fillet steak is on the menu and vintage champagne costs.

£2000.

The Prime Minister is facing criticism over his failure to end arms sales to Israel and impose trade sanctions despite 85 children now reported to have died of malnutrition in Gaza and 1121 people are believed to have been killed waiting for aid.

Starmer is refusing a demand from 220 MPs and 21 MSPs including from his own party - to immediately recognise a Palestinian state.

Former first Humza minister Yousaf, whose wife Nadia's relatives face starvation in Gaza, said: "We don't need statements of condemnation from prime ministers and presidents, we need pressure exerted on Israel so they change course."

Philippe Lazzarini, the head of UN Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA, yesterday called Israeli plans for airdrops of aid into Gaza an "inefficient distraction" which will "not reverse the deepening starvation".

As the crisis deepened, Trump waved to locals as he strode the pristine fairways of Turnberry with aides and secret service agents close behind.
