Sevelj has banished all trace of self doubt
VICKO SEVELJ goes back to where his Dundee United career kicked off this afternoon.
But it is fair to say that the Croatian doesn't have great memories of the Falkirk Stadium.
He made his competitive debut in tangerine against the Bairns in last season's Premier Sports Cup and, by his own admission, it was one to forget.
United lost 2-0 to the Championship new boys and it left Sevelj questioning whether he had the tools to make his mark in Scottish football.
Just over 12 months on and Sevelj returns to the same venue for today's Premiership opener.
He hasn't just become a key man for United but is fresh from helping them to victory over UNA Strassen, setting up a Europa Conference League clash with Rapid Vienna next week.
Sevelj recalled: “My debut was really difficult. During the game, I thought: 'This is really tough'.
“I didn't know anything about Falkirk, apart from the fact they had just been promoted from the third league.
“I questioned: ‘Am I good enough?’ That was the process. I need to play them in the first league match this season so I'm hoping it won't be a big problem.
