Mcllroy four off Irish Open lead as wind drags home hero back

FRUSTRATED Rory Mcllroy refused to have his Irish Open bid blown off course - as he declared a fast start can help him storm up the leaderboard.

The world No.2 starts today four shots adrift of leader Adrien Saddier after back-to-back bogey-free rounds at The K Club.

Mcllroy’s four-under 68 leaves him tied for fourth, with Spaniards Angel Hidalgo and Alfredo Garcia-Heredia also ahead of the Northern Irishman going into the final 18.

With Harry Diamond on the bag, Mcllroy said: “As I was walking off the 18th green, I said to Harry, ‘This is probably the most frustrating four-under par round I’ve played in awhile’.
