Island is a teacher down for six years

A COUNCIL has been trying to find a teacher for an island primary school for more than six years.

The Scottish Lib Dems said data they uncovered shows more than 1350 teaching posts have been readvertised in two years.

This includes a post for a primary teacher on Papa Westray - one of Orkney's smallest islands - which had been vacant when the request was made since the end of March 2019.
