Greg's Scot an eye on winning Hampden caps
June 15, 2025
|Sunday Mail
GREG DOCHERTY tasted promotion joy at Wembley - and hasn't given up hope of international recognition at Hampden.
The former Rangers and Hull star is on his way back to the Championship down south after captaining Charlton to play-off joy last month.
And as the midfielder prepares to take a step up to England's second-tier, he hopes it will be a platform for a Scotland call-up.
The 28-year-old was capped at several youth levels - including with Scot Gemmill's Under-21s.
But while Docherty has yet to make the step up to the full national team, he believes there is time yet.
The Addicks ace said: “Yeah, it has to be my ambition. It's about striving for the best version of yourself and doing well for Charlton will help that.
