The Gambian had been suffering a frustrating season in front of goal for Saints with only one Championship strike.
But he put that to bed with a brilliant scoring burst against bottom club Airdrie.
It was the perfect hat-trick as a 25th-minute header was followed by second-half finishes with either foot.
Perth gaffer Valakari said: “Strikers want to score. When the goals aren't coming, there were two choices for Adama.
“One was to feel sorry for himself. The other was to do something else for the team.
“That's what he has done - running so much, being an outlet and making it difficult for our opponents. He has helped us so much so I'm happy he has got these goals.
“It was great to see the joy on his face. Pure happiness.
