Vocational training institute proposed to boost youth skills and foreign exchange

The private New Mark Marine Institute has written to the President of Sri Lanka seeking presidential intervention to secure import concessions and land allocation for the establishment of a vocational training institute aimed at equipping Sri Lankan youth with internationally recognized welding skills.

Captain ABC Cashmere
The institute, which specialises in professional training in Earth Welding, Electronic Welding, and Pipeline Welding and Fixing, has already signed agreements with European institutions to facilitate overseas employment opportunities. Director of the NMMI Captain ABC Cashmere says the first batch of trainees will be sent to Europe with a guaranteed monthly salary of 1,200.
