WITH its leafy surroundings and impressive homes, many boasting highly polished Range Rovers parked on gravel driveways, you might imagine the residents of Surrey have achieved inner peace.

But despite many enjoying the trappings of success, a survey claims some of the county's residents are among the most stressed in Britain.

The district of Spelthorne, inset, takes the top spot as the most anxious place in the country its picturesque location on the Thames attracting thousands of visitors despite all year round.

Analysis of Office for National Statistics personal wellbeing estimates from April 2022 March to 2023 identified the UK's most and least anxious areas.

Conducted by online vape retailer Go Smoke Free, it shows that in Spelthorne the average anxiety score was 5.16 out of 10, compared with a national average of 3.2.
