LABOUR leader Sir Keir Starmer has become a household name with eight out of 10 voters now aware of who he is.

But polling shows that most people have little idea about his top team.

The vast majority of the electorate are not familiar with the frontbenchers who hope to win control of key government departments in the next year.

Just 52 per cent said they are very or quite familiar with outspoken deputy leader Angela Rayner, who was the most recognised name beside Sir Keir.

The Savanta polling for the PLMR public affairs agency shows the challenge Labour faces in the run-up to the election as it seeks to convince voters it has a talented team ready for power.

It found just 45 per cent of voters are familiar with Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper.
