Ruthless France pile on points without Dupont

FRANCE overcame the loss of injured Antoine Dupont to blow open the Six Nations title race and extinguish Ireland's Grand Slam dream in Dublin.
Captain Dupont limped from the field in the 29th minute and team boss Fabien Galthie blasted the challenge that could have ended his season as “reprehensible”.
He also confirmed Tadhg Beirne and Andrew Porter had been cited for their part in the incident.
“There is a suspicion of a quite serious knee injury to Antoine,” said Galthie. “He is suffering. We are angry and we must protect our players.”
Louis Bielle-Biarrey’s early try helped the French into an 8-6 half-time lead before Dan Sheehan’s score shifted the momentum to Ireland.
But the hosts were blitzed as ruthless France grabbed top spot ahead of Saturday’s final round.
