Teenagers who died in railway tragedy named

THE two teenagers who died in an incident on the railway track have been named.

Sixteen-year-olds Jordan Everett and Joshua Myers died in a double tragedy in Poynton last Thursday.

Police were called to a 'reports of a casualty on the tracks' near Poynton station at around 10.10pm.

Officers attended and, despite the best efforts of paramedics, both boys were declared dead at the scene.

British Transport Police (BTP) have said they not treating the deaths as suspicious.

No further details about the circumstances have yet been disclosed.

Jordan's family described him as a 'loyal, caring and thoughtful' young man who they said dreamed of becoming a pilot.

In a statement issued this week, they said: “Our cherished son, grandson and brother, you were so loved by your family and all that knew you.

“We will always miss you and you will forever be in our hearts.

“Jordan was inquisitive and adventurous and had already started building his flying hours to achieve his dream of becoming a pilot.
