Emily is growing in confidence as career takes off
July 11, 2025
|Stirling Observer
It has been a rapid rise to success on the rugby pitch for Stirling County winger Emily Norval as she tries to add to her international tally this week.
The speedster impressed as part of the Scotland's under-20 team beaten on the opening round of games in the Six Nations Super Series in Caerphilly, with Norval notching one of the trio of Scottish scores with a fabulous sidestep and flying finish.
They were defeated by England 31-17 in that match, with the next game against their Welsh hosts this evening (Friday).
But Norval has been explaining about her own short journey in the sport - and is full of praise for the role of her County teammates - and head coach Mark Ainsworth for helping her find - and fulfil - her potential.
Speaking to the Scottish Rugby website, Norval said: “I always saw myself going on to represent Scotland in hockey but I grew up in a rugby family; my dad is rugby daft.
