Act now before meter switch-off

Households across Stirling are being urged to ensure they replace older electricity meters before a national switch-off at the end of June.

The Radio Teleswitch Service meters are being switched off on June 30 and it is estimated that more than 2,000 such devices are still in operation across Stirling.
RTS meters use radio signals to switch between peak and off-peak tariffs. The technology is now becoming obsolete, as it is too old to maintain effectively.
Meters that haven't been replaced could become stuck on peak tariffs.
