Thousands of engineers of the Power Development Department (PDD) across Jammu and Kashmir, under the banner of the Jammu & Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA), observed a mass one-day protest leave in Wednesday.
-
The move came after a 21-day ultimatum served to the government on May 26, 2025, demanding regularization of engineers and revocation of arbitrary diversion of cadre posts to JKSPDC, saw no tangible progress.
Massive protests were staged simultaneously at the Gladni Narwal Complex in Jammu and Bemina Complex in Srinagar. Engineers ranging from Chief Engineer to Junior Engineers, along with non-gazetted technical and clerical cadre unions, joined the protest in solidarity.
